Microsoft revealed everything about the graphic acceleration of the new Windows 8 OS in a new “Building Windows 8″ blog post. Microsoft fixed the performance problems with a minimum impact on the autonomy of the hardware systems it runs by using a graphics platform based on DirectX 11.1. Precisely, dividing the tasks in a smart way, each component does what it does best every time.
Thing starts from DirectX 11.1, this is Microsoft’s secret weapon, and most of Windows 8 graphics will be based on DirectX. After starting from two simple concepts, pure performance and increased autonomy, it had become clear that this was a point that was able to save or promote the new Windows platform.
The common interface elements, like displaying text, shapes or images, are sent dynamically and in real time where they have to be displayed so the result to be faster. After the tests, this new idea of fixing problems provided a 36% bigger speed when it comes to text rendering and up to 438% when displaying shapes. The speed with which JPEG images are displayed also increased.
Microsoft already boasts with the fact that the company can offer apps developers the same performance in the new Windows. This is how users can enjoy increased performance in Windows and in their favorite apps.
